AMHERST, NE – In the final week leading up to the 2024 General election, the Dan McKeon campaign is taking a firm stance against the distasteful and misleading tactics employed by his opponent's campaign consultants. The recent radio ad targeting Dan, orchestrated by Clark's campaign consultant company, Robnik Strategies out of Lincoln, not only distorts the truth but also strikes a new low in political campaigning within our community.
"It's disappointing to see a Republican campaign resort to attacking another Republican's family during their time of need," said Dan McKeon. "The use of such tactics, especially funded by donor money, raises serious questions about the values, ethics, and integrity of the people guiding my opponent's campaign. These are not the principles Nebraska was built on."
The McKeon campaign highlights that these negative ads, which aim to capitalize on a family hardship, reflect the character of the decision-making and ethical standpoint of the individuals running the opposition's campaign. "This isn't just about politics; it's about preserving the integrity of our electoral process and respecting the personal hardships of constituents," added McKeon.
Leading up to the Spring of 2022, Dan McKeon faced a challenging period involving the foreclosure of a business venture due to bank pressures, coinciding with significant family health crises. "At a time when my family needed me the most, following my father-in-law’s stroke and other personal family challenges, I made a tough decision that family comes first. Now these political operatives saw fit to use this as fodder for political gain. This is not the Nebraska way. It's the type of politics that aims to divide and conquer at the expense of real human grief and suffering. I am beyond grateful for the support I got from my church family and friends in my time of need," explained McKeon.
The tactics employed by Robnik Strategies owned by Robert 'Bud' Synhorst, are eerily reminiscent of the establishment's attack strategies used against other outsider candidates in Nebraska’s recent political history, aiming to undermine voter confidence through personal attacks rather than addressing the issues that matter to voters.
The Dan McKeon campaign urges voters and donors to reconsider where they place their support, advocating for a return to genuine, issue-focused campaigning that addresses the real needs of District 41's residents. "We must challenge the status quo of political behavior and demand better from those seeking to represent us," McKeon concluded.
