AMHERST, NE – The campaign of Dan McKeon for Nebraska’s District 41 legislature today issued a statement addressing more misleading claims made by his opponent’s campaign in their promotional materials.
The McKeon campaign points out that the recent flyer distributed by his opponent claims an "A" rating from the NRA-ILA despite having no legislative voting record, a prerequisite for such a rating by the NRA. The NRA-ILA has confirmed that they do not issue ratings to candidates without a legislative voting record, which calls into question the accuracy of the information being presented to voters.
"This type of misleading information is exactly what voters are tired of," said Dan McKeon. "It’s disappointing to see such tactics being employed, where facts are being misrepresented to gain an electoral advantage. This is not just misleading; it's a disservice to the voters of District 41 who deserve honesty and transparency."
Furthermore, Dan McKeon also emphasizes that both candidates received the same NRA questionnaire rating of "AQ", which indicates a pro-gun stance based on responses to the NRA's questionnaire, but does not equate to the voting record-based "A" rating misleadingly advertised.
"The voters of District 41 should be aware that the information being circulated by some campaigns may not accurately reflect the truth. We urge all involved to maintain integrity in this race and focus on the real issues that affect our community," McKeon added.
The McKeon campaign calls on the voters of District 41 to question the motives behind such misleading tactics and to seek out verified information before making their decision at the polls.
